Welcome to the website of Emma Moxey,
a multi-disciplinary artist who specialises in drawing, painting, print-making and installation enamel.
For Emma these activities represent a method of enquiry into the mechanisms of mark making. She cites as her focus the inherent processes of communication through sign and symbol, and re-iteration through serial translation and transmutation. Her work draws, and draws from, ‘placial’ aspects such as topography, cartography, mythology, history and sensory perceptions whilst evolving through interconnection and the embodiment of various material forms.
In addition to this practice, Emma lectures in drawing, painting and visual language at both FE and HE levels, explores drawing within a collaborative group of practitioners, and is engaged in both critical and reflective writing regarding her own and other’s work. |
